There is growing interest in battery storage, particularly linked to a solar PV system.
In the summer months a solar system often produces more electricity than can be consumed on-site.
Rather than simply let the spare electricity go back to the grid it can be stored in a battery and then the power accessed at night, or in certain situations ‘sold’ back to the grid at a higher price when the grid is short of electric supply.
Batteries come at a price
The most important thing to assess is the financials attached to a battery installation. These include the initial cost of the battery and installation, the write-down over the battery’s life (typically 10 years) and the revenue generated from electric savings and grid supply. We are well versed in these calculations, helping you to make an informed decision on battery purchase.
